Food Services

Food Services
Cherry Street serves men, women, and children every day to help meet their most basic need of eating a balanced meal. Meals are served to the public at two locations,
the Madison Food Service and Community Center at
1919 W. Madison Ave., and the Good Samaritan
Outreach Center at 1108 Broadway St. In 2008 Cherry Street served 240,300 meals to men, women, and children, this is a 51% increase from 2006.. We receive food donations from individuals, churches, and corporations. Every year hundreds of volunteers help prepare and serve meals, along with cleaning up and helping with inventory.

Donating Food
Cherry Street gratefully accepts fresh perishable and nonperishable food items, for a current needs list, visit
our Gifts-in-Kind page or contact our Food Services Department at 419-242-0068 if you have any questions about a food donation. Food donations can be dropped
off at 1919 Madison Avenue, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. seven days
a week.

Volunteer
There are many ways for you or your group to volunteer in food services, including preparing and serving a meal. For more information contact Roz Goodwin at 419-242-5141, ext. 241 or visit our How You Can Help page.

We also have an Adopt-A-Meal program, where a group can prepare a meal and bring the meal to serve. If you or your group would like to Adopt-A-Meal, please call for more information.
