MORE THAN A BED. MORE THAN A MEAL.
24 Hours A Day. Every Single Day of The Year.
Cherry Street is more than a bed and more than a meal. Operating for over 75 years, Cherry Street Mission Ministries works to eradicate poverty of the body, soul and spirit by connecting individuals to resources that create health and community sustainability.
Emergency Services
Immediately we will see that your basic needs are met. Gladly we will answer any questions you have about Cherry Street, provide access to services and introduce you to other organizations who are in collaboration with us. During your assessment with Cherry Street we will discuss your legal considerations, your immediate needs and your longer term plans. The advocates and mentors will help you navigate Toledo, find your way to other resources and offer opportunities toward healing and redemption through Christ’s love. If you need to, Cherry Street is well versed in guests who need to register as sex offenders.
We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Whenever you arrive- we will be here.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Residential guests are served three meals a day in the Mac Street Café located within the Life Revitalization Center at 1501 Monroe Street, Toledo. For those employed, a bagged lunch can be provided on days you work. Community guests are invited to share a meal during the dinner hour from 5:00-6:00 pm.
- Breakfast 7:00 – 8:00 a.m.
- Lunch 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.
- Dinner 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
When you are engaged with services and other activities within the Life Revitalization Center you can bring some items with you. We discourage people bringing suitcases into the building for safety concerns. We have a library that does not allow anything in other than a bag that can fit under your chair or hang off the chair. We want and encourage you to spend as much time as you can in the Life Revitalization Center. It’s a place of safety, opportunities and community.
We will always have space for someone new. We are a low to no barrier ministry offering services to any individual in need.

What you bring with you needs to be able to fit into a tote. The storage tote is approximately 18 x 14 X 17 inches. When you stay with us, you are allowed to store items in the storage tote. You can gain access to your tote twice a day. The totes stay locked in a room. All other belongs not in the tote need to go with you. However, large bags or garbage bags are not allowed in the Mac Street Café.
Access To Services
Once guests are welcomed to Cherry Street and begin to feel stabilized after receiving food and shelter, they can begin to think about their futures. We step into the reality of our guests and walk with them as they start their path to life revitalization through one of our many vocational and educational programs. Our goal for all guests is for them to return home to live life independently and with dignity. Cherry Street programs are customized and no two paths will be identical.
Cherry Street staff helps community members and guests to navigate any personal issues they may have, assist in connecting with resources and collaborators, gaining on the job training, work force development, accessing medical care and mental health counseling, working toward spiritual healing, and so much more.
Cherry Street’s continuum of care is centered on healing, stabilizing, and transforming the whole person. Guests will not be successful in life if they do not have a strong foundation for success, which includes small groups, peer-to-peer mentorship, coaching, tutoring, access to services and skills development.
Ready For Life
As part of the continuum of care, the Ready for Life program provides guests with the life skills training that will complement their jobs skills training and education. Ready for Life prepares both men and women to return to their communities through spiritual transformation and practical skills development. Ready for Life offers individualized advocacy including referrals to other agencies for medical, substance abuse, and mental health assessments and/or care that Cherry Street cannot provide.

Plan Development
Part of the Cherry Street Mission Ministry philosophy involves providing multifaceted methods to restore the soul, spirit and relationships of those who have lost hope. As Christ has done, Cherry Street looks for partners to provide best-in-class services and to show redemption. Cherry Street staff offer an opportunity for residential and community guests to be on a personalized development plan. The plans are developed by the individual and layered with many opportunities for engagement through services and the partnering collaborations. These plans will help to increase the sustainable impact for lives and generations to come.
