Real Stories: Spencer's Story

Last fall, Spencer came to Cherry Street. He met with our staff and was assigned to serve in the warehouse at our Madison Food and Community Center.

Spencer served three hours every weekday until mid-February. He learned industry standard warehousing procedures and safe food handling practices. He also participated in daily Bible studies.

With support from donors and volunteers like you, Spencer recently moved into his very own affordable apartment. Before leaving, he connected with community resources, gathered donated items for his new place, and washed his clothing for a fresh start. After moving out, he received his first monthly food box.

Spencer is now regularly attending a local church that his brother belongs to. He attended our volunteer orientation started serving in the warehouse the very next day.

Congratulations to Spencer on his accomplishment!
