Stay Up To Date
Stay up to date, and discover how your support changes lives. Read our guests’ stories and you may discover that the homeless aren’t exactly who you thought they were. They are Mothers, Fathers, Sisters and Brothers. They are Aunts, Uncles, Grandfathers, and Grandmothers. They are Daughters and Sons. They are Young, Old, High-School Dropouts and College Students. They are Veterans, who served our country. They are from every race and every walk of life.
They arrived at Cherry Street, hopeless and homeless, sometimes through circumstances most of us can’t imagine, but often for reasons we can imagine all too well. An extended illness that racks up insurmountable debt. A sudden cutback at work that leaves them jobless without warning. The loss of a spouse or child that rocks their world off its foundation. Thanks to Cherry Street donors and volunteers, they have the opportunity to rebuild their lives.

Thank you so much for thinking of ways you can help others in your community. Our Mac Street Café operates under the rules of the Health Department. That means we can only take food under very specific circumstances. Unfortunately, we will have to decline this offer. But please do call us again. Our needs change from time to time and we would like to stay in touch with you.
Right now we don’t have space or volunteers to handle donations like this. Thank you for thinking of ways you can help others in your community.

We are open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. If a person is new to us, you can come at any time. We aren’t going to turn anyone away simply because of what time it is. If we know you and are in relationship with you as a guest, check-in is after dinner and usually ends about 9 pm. However we make special arrangements with people who have to come in late after work or other such obligations. Those are dependent upon previous conversations and previous arrangement.
At your first check-in you can come at any time. After that you will need to have had a conversation with a Cherry Street staff member if you have a job or a situation that does not allow you to be in at the 9pm curfew. Otherwise the curfew is 9pm.
To start off, no. We have partners that will help you get your ID immediately.

When you stay with us, you are allowed to store items in the storage tote. You can gain access to your tote twice a day. The totes stay locked in a room. All other belongs not in the tote need to go with you each day. Guests are not permitted to have food in the resident houses or stored in totes. Weapons and illegal drugs are also not permitted.
